The U-bolts is used as the tower hardware of the suspension string, which is fixed with the cross arm of the rod by the way of bolt connection, so that the cross arm structure is simplified.

The other end of the U-bolts is connected with the insulator string in a ring connection mode, thus forming a flexible turning point. But its disadvantage is that the thread bears the tensile load, which is easy to cause fatigue damage after long-term operation.

W-type screw adds a platform at the lower part of the thread, which can counteract the bending moment caused by horizontal load, and its performance is improved. U-type screw type joint tower hardware should only be used on ground wire and small section conductor.
