Its purpose is to make the disconnector operate by using the power frequency short-circuit current when the arrester fails abnormally, so that the ground terminal of the disconnector can be disconnected automatically, and the arrester can be withdrawn from operation, so as to prevent the accident from further expanding. The fault arrester is also provided with the visibility of the disconnection mark, so that the maintenance personnel can find the fault point in time Line maintenance and replacement.

The separator can be divided into hot melt separator and hot explosion separator according to the use principle and performance. Using the short circuit current flowing through the failure arrester, the alloy fuse (or soldering tin) in the disconnector is fused to achieve the purpose of disconnection.

The thermal explosion type disconnector uses the short-circuit current in the failure arrester to generate the arc in the disconnector and detonate the thermal explosion element to achieve the purpose of disconnection.
